Dakota Johnson deals with toxic relationship in Taylor Swift's 'Patient Zero' MV

It’s the same old, tired story: A girl falls in love, enters the honeymoon stage, and lives her days on Cloud 9. But eventually, the butterflies in her stomach fade as she begins to see the person for who they truly are.

Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell star in Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” music video, released on Spotify and Apple Music on Monday, as a picture-perfect couple, while Taylor stars as the reflection of Colin’s past lover.

In the beginning, Dakota can be seen wearing rose-colored glasses as she puts up with the gaslighting and ignores all the red flags. Toward the end, when things get heated between them, she is left defenseless as Colin poisons her through a drink.

At the MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor bagged the most coveted honor with video of the year for her showgirl-inspired “The Fate of Ophelia,” which she dedicated to the late Dolly Parton.
