Pinay girl group wows audience at ‘X-Factor UK’ auditions
A group of four sisters hailing from Isabela province have found their way to the United Kingdom and dazzled the 'X-Factor UK' audience on the first week of the talent show's 12th season.
Sisters Mylene, Celina, Irene and Almira of the group "4th Power" belted out the hit song 'Bang Bang' by Jessie J., Ariana Grande, and Nikki Minaj, complete with an energetic, dance number.
Their performance not only impressed the audience but also won a standing ovation from judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Rita Ora, and Nick Grimshaw.
According to the group, they flew to the United Kingdom straight from the Philippines to audition and get the chance to see the esteemed judges as well as Queen Elizabeth II.
The group has competed in several talent shows in the Philippines, including “Pinoy Idol,” “It’s Showtime” and “Talentadong Pinoy”.
The Pinay sister act has been known by names such as "The Gollayan Sisters" and "The Cercados" and have also joined the biggest talent show in South Korea “Superstar K6" as M.I.C.A., where they reached the competition's final round.
They debuted as "4th Power" in the X-Factor UK auditions this week.
Although it has not yet been decided whether the girl group is to advance to the competition's next round, many viewers have already compared them to the famous all-English girl group "Little Mix," who won X-Factor in 2011. — Bianca Rose Dabu/JDS, GMA News
