Lady Gaga posts sweet break-up message: Please root us on

After reports said on Tuesday that Pop diva Lady Gaga and actor Taylor Kinney have called of their engagement, the award-winning American singer-songwriter and actress posted a sweet Instagram post with her former fiancé. 

In a short message, Lady Gaga continues to ask for support from their fans and friends, hoping that they could “continue the simple love we have always shared.”

“Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules...” she said.

The international artist added, “Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other.”

It has only been more than a year after Lady Gaga and Taylor thought they had found the right match in each other.

The singer has in recent days appeared without her engagement ring in photos she posted on Instagram from the resort town of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where she has been volunteering at a charity for needy children.

Kinney popped the question to Gaga, an Italian American whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, over a Valentine's Day dinner last year at a New York restaurant owned by her family.

Gaga met Kinney, now 35, in 2011 when they filmed the video for "You & I" in the open fields of Nebraska—in which she had incidentally worn her mother's wedding dress. — Bianca Rose Dabu/RSJ, GMA News
