Lady Gaga wins first Oscar, social media swoon over her performance with Bradley Cooper

Lady Gaga's song “Shallow” from “A Star is Born” won the Best Original Song at the 91st Academy Awards, a first for the pop star.

"I've worked hard for a long time and its not about winning. Its about not giving up. If you have a dream, fight for it. There's a discipline for passion, and its not about how many times you get rejected. It's about how many times you stand up and you keep going," she said in her empowering speech.

But the bigger story, really, happened before she accepted the award. It was when Lady Gaga performed "Shallow" with Bradley Cooper.

Social Media erupted in a variety of emotions after seeing what many have called a ‘sultry’ performance.

The two walked up the stage from the audience, Bradley sitting himself on a stool, as Lady Gaga stands by the piano, watching him. The two never leave each other’s gaze.

Lady Gaga then sits herself on the piano and a huge moment arrives. Her voice is big and round and powerful; her talent, really, is undeniable.

But here is where we lost it: Bradley, like a rockstar, takes his mic stand aside, walks around the piano from behind, and sits beside Lady Gaga. They gingerly put their heads together and he joins her in singing.

Of course social media couldn't get enough of it.
