Jung Eun Chae's agency releases statement on reported extramarital affair from 10 years ago

The agency of "The King: Eternal Monarch" star Jung Eun Chae on Sunday released a statement after a report of an affair between the actress and singer Jung Joon II from 10 years ago surfaced.

A report on Korean entertainment website Soompi said that Korean website WikiTree published a story claiming that Jung Eun Chae and Jung Joon II had an affair 10 years ago, while Joon II was married.

The report also claimed that Eun Chae did not know about Joon II's marriage when they dated.

Joon II's representatives issued a response saying that they could not verify the report given that it is the singer's private life. They also claimed that Eun Chae knew that the actor was married.

Eun Chae's agency KeyEast Entertainment released a statement saying that they hope the issue from 10 years ago would no longer resurface as it has caused harm to their artist.

This is KeyEast Entertainment statement:

Previously, Jung Eun Chae’s position was revealed against her will. We hope that the resulting battle for the truth on both sides will no longer continue.

This issue is an extremely private matter that ended 10 years ago. Neither side had any intention of bringing up the issue in the present day, but because of this sudden report, people are treating it as if it is a current case.

We regret that this situation has caused additional harm to our artist by having a specific part of an issue that belongs to her private life revealed to the public.

We ask that you refrain from further speculation and making statements without proof.
