BLACKPINK's Lisa was scammed 1 billion won by former manager, agency apologizes

The agency of Lisa from BLACKPINK released an apology statement after her former manager scammed her out of 1 billion won ( approximately $816,000), Soompi reports.

Citing Market News, Soompi said the former manager exploited connections and received money, pretending to help Lisa look into real estate and then spending it on gambling.

Following the report, Lisa's agency YG Entertainment confirmed the news and apologized in a statement they released.

"After looking into the matter, we confirmed that Lisa was a victim of fraud by former manager 'A'," YG wrote in a statement.

YG Entertainment said Lisa wants an amicable settlement as she also trusted her former manager.

"Manager “A” has reimbursed a part of the sum and has left the company after agreeing on a reimbursement plan for the rest of the sum," YG said.

"We bow our heads and apologize for causing concern to the fans who love our artist."

"We are very embarrassed by 'A’s' behavior of taking advantage of his trust with the artist, and we feel responsible for the management and supervision [of our staff]," they wrote.

"We are taking preventive measures so that this does not happen again.” — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
