BTS pays tribute to Class of 2020 with Obamas, Beyonce and more

The world's most famous celebrities and personalities have extended their heartfelt congratulations to students whose graduation ceremonies were canceled amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

YouTube’s “Dear Class of 2020” livestream featured inspirational messages and video greetings from the likes of former US president and first lady Barrack and Michelle Obama, Lizzo, and Taylor Swift.

The virtual graduation celebration was also headlined by none other than K-pop sensation BTS.

BTS closed the four-hour livestream with a special performance of "Boy With Luv."

The members of the K-pop group also looked back at their graduation days and revealed how they overcame struggles of their own.

RM, who gave his message in English, started by congratulating graduates for making it through a most memorable year.

“Dear class of 2020, it's been a strange year so far, but you made it,” RM began.

“Today, we might not have flowers, and we might not have graduation caps, but what we do have is possibly the most special graduation ceremony in history. Never before have so many gathered to celebrate a graduating class for their achievement and their dreams," he added.

RM recalled the joy he felt when he finished high school 10 years ago.

"I was just a boy who had closed just one chapter, ready to pen another, and I remember that feeling. It's really thrilling and breathtaking. It was a moment I felt most like me myself. A feeling I wanted to hold onto forever," shared the K-pop star.

"So, as a fellow individual in his 20s, all the way from Seoul Korea, I want to say congratulations," he added.
