Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara welcome baby boy named River — reports

Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara have reportedly welcomed a baby boy that they named River.

At the 2020 Zurich Film Festival, "Gunda" director Victor Kossakovsky revealed the news after screening the film — of which Joaquin is the co-producer — saying Joaquin "just got a baby by the way...a beautiful son called River."

According to multiple reports, their son was named after Joaquin's late brother, River, who tragically died of a drug overdose in 1993 at the age of 23.

The couple, who first met while filming the Spike Jonez movie "Her,"  has yet to confirm and announce the arrival of their baby. They didn't even comment when rumors of Rooney being pregnant swirled in the media in May. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
