‘Legally Blonde 3’ to premiere in May 2022

It’s official! Elle Woods is back on “Legally Blonde 3,” which is set to premiere in May 2022.

MGM Studios announced the news with a GIF tweet of Reese Witherspoon as Elle.

“Elle Woods is back! Legally Blonde 3 coming May 2022. We rest our case. #LegallyBlonde3 #ElleWoods,” the tweet read.

In May, Reese announced that Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor will be cowriting the screenplay.

It’s been about almost two decades since Reese was last seen as Elle.

According to Variety, MGM initially scheduled to premiere the movie in February but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and closure of movie theaters, they moved it to a later date.

The report said a director for the movie was also not yet confirmed.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Reese said she hoped that there would be other returning original cast members for the sequel.

“I love Jennifer Coolidge and Luke Wilson and Selma Blair and so there’s so many great characters that people love,” she told Entertainment Tonight. – Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/RC, GMA News
