Jamie Foxx to play Mike Tyson in new series

Jamie Foxx is set to play the controversial boxing legend Mike Tyson in an upcoming biographical limited series.

The project "Tyson," which will "span the life" of the former boxer, was initially planned to be a film but was later on changed into a series, according to Hollywood Reporter on Monday.

"I have been looking to tell my story for quite some time,” Tyson said in a statement. "I look forward to collaborating with Martin, Antoine, Jamie and the entire creative team to bring audiences a series that not only captures my professional and personal journey but also inspires and entertains."

Antoine Fuqua is set to direct the new series while Martin Scorsese will be its executive producer.
