Who is KITTYCHICHA, the Thai actress who plays Nanno in ‘Girl from Nowhere’?

If you've seen "Girl from Nowhere," you're probably very familiar with Nanno, the strange girl who brings her own brand of justice to the world, one school at a time.

But how much do you know about Kitty Chicha Amatayakul, the talented Thai actress who brought her to life?

Before captivating viewers with her chilling performance as Nanno, Kitty was actually part of a Thai girl group called Kiss Me Five.

She has also starred in the horror film "Net I Die" and the Netflix crime series "The Serpent," and is an Instagram sensation with  more than 1.9 million followers.

During a roundtable interview for the premiere of "Girl from Nowhere" Season 2, Kitty talked how she really wanted the role of Nanno and how happy she was to get it.

"It's the standard story of any actor, actress, getting a role," she told reporters.

"This role was put on casting, and it went around Bangkok and around Thailand. I got a phone call, they sent me the scripts. But when I first read it, I felt like this is the first time in my life that I really wanted a role, and I tried my best. I was lucky enough that the team chose me," she added.

Kitty also revealed some of the iconic manga and comic book characters who gave her some inspiration on how to play Nanno.

"I had many references from Japanese manga characters. For example, I do have Junji Ito's 'Tomie,' I have L from 'Death Note'... And I had Joker, I had Harley Quinn, I had so many characters. There's also Johnny Depp, I actually enjoy his acting and how he would go from one character to another character," the actress said.

"I had many many references, mixing them together and trying to find the right proportion for Nanno," she added.

For all the "Girl from Nowhere" fans out there, you'd know that Nanno does this thing where she throws her head back and laughs maniacally.

According to Kitty, this was not her usual laugh — It's actually something that tells us a lot about Nanno.

"People always ask me to do it (the laugh) but I'm a bit shy and I feel like I would keep that for the character, for Nanno just for, like, when I'm in character, hopefully," the actress shared.

"The first time that we thought about this I feel like since she's like a devil and now she's trying to blend with like human society and human world there must be something off about her and I feel like when she's laugh is like seriously, or like is this real, or like 'What are you guys doing?' Things like that," she explained.

"So she doesn't even know how to like, laugh, like a human being. Like, a fake one so, every time she laughs, it's like, from her like her heart, her soul, her bones, everything!"

"Girl from Nowhere" is centered on an unusual teenage girl named Nanno who turns up at different schools, and deals with the injustices taking place within its walls.

The chilling Thai series touches on a wide range of social issues among the youth, from sex abuse and rape to the consequences of stan culture and bullying. Also, each episode tells a different story based on real events, all from the eye of a different director every time.

A whole lot of things happen in "Girl from Nowhere" Season 2, but Kitty can sum it all up in three words: "Nanno is back," she says while looking directly at the camera.

In case you were wondering, Kitty showed up to virtual presser in Nanno's signature school uniform and haircut.
