Queen Charlotte of 'Bridgerton' to get own series

The "Bridgerton" universe is slowly expanding!

In a tweet, Netflix announced that Queen Charlotte, the reigning queen in the first season of "Bridgerton," will get its own limited series.

The streaming platform wrote, "All Hail The Queen! Thrilled to announce we’re expanding the Bridgerton universe with a limited series that will tell Queen Charlotte’s origin story."

"The series will also feature young Violet Bridgerton and young Lady Danbury," it added.

"Bridgerton," an original Netflix series set during the London Regency, follows Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family as she makes her debut in a competitive marriage market.

It features Queen Charlotte as a bored ruler who finds entertainment among the couples as she battles her own personal issues.

The series, which has already been renewed for season 4, was Netflix's most popular new series, with more than 82 million households that tuned in to watch the period drama's first season. — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA News
