Chanya McClory auditioned for 'Girl from Nowhere' just days after brain surgery

Did you know that "Girl from Nowhere" star Chanya McClory had brain surgery 11 days before auditioning for the role of Yuri?

The Thai actress made the shocking revelation in the caption of her audition clip she posted on Instagram this week.

"When I was casting for Yuri, it was just 11 days after my brain surgery. 11 days! I looked so ordinary there," her caption said.

Chanya admitted being "scared" and "worried" about her surgery, thinking she would "not be able to act again" after waking up.

"But when I woke up, I was given an opportunity and I didn't think twice about taking the chance," she said.

While she was "not so confident," Chanya said she "believed that I could do it. And I did it!" she added.

In a post last week, Chanya showed everyone her fresh-looking scar while getting fitted with a wig to shoot scenes as Yuri.

"I have played a role of a cancer patient and had to shave my hair off for #thedeadline (available on Netflix) And after that I actually found out that I have a brain tumor," the actress shared.

"I was shooting this role just a month after my surgery, hence why my hair is still very short," she added.

In "Girl from Nowhere" Season 2, Yuri is the peculiar new girl who proves to be a major challenge to the main character Nanno (played by Kitty Chica Amatayakul)

Chanya has now made a lasting impression on viewers around the globe as the supernatural Thai series has been one of the most watched titles on Netflix since Season 2 premiered on May 7.

In her latest IG post, Chanya had an encouraging message for people too scared to pursue their dreams due to a health condition.

"What I want to tell everyone is that if I can do it, anyone can do it too! Whether you have a health problem or any kinds of problems, don't give up on what you believe in," Chanya said.

"Don't give up on what you want or what you want to be. Don't let your limitations limit you from your dream. I'm here to cheer you up." — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
