Steven Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’ drops emotional trailer

The trailer for Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” is finally here!

The much-anticipated film adaptation, based on the iconic Broadway musical of the same name, stars Ansel Elgort and newcomer Rachel Zegler as the star-crossed lovers Tony and Maria.

It also stars Ariana DeBose (Anita); David Alvarez (Bernardo); Mike Faist (Riff); Josh Andrés Rivera (Chino); Ana Isabelle (Rosalía); Corey Stoll (Lieutenant Schrank); Brian d’Arcy James (Officer Krupke); and Rita Moreno (as Valentina, who owns the corner store in which Tony works).

“West Side Story” tells a classic tale of two young lovers caught between a fierce rivalry in 1957 New York City.

The upcoming film adaptation is directed by Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg with a screenplay by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tony Kushner.
