Super Junior's Choi Siwon tests positive for COVID-19

Super Junior member Choi Siwon has tested positive for COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated.

Citing a statement from SM Entertainment, Soompi reported that Siwon took a PCR COVID-19 test as part of precautionary measures for his regular entertainment activities and received a positive result on Friday morning.

"He has halted all his scheduled activities and is in self-quarantine," SM stated.

"All the other Super Junior members and the staff that had been in contact with him are being tested for COVID-19. Choi Siwon and the agency will actively follow the directions of the disease control authorities and we will do our best for his speedy recovery," they added.

Due to this, Siwon will no longer be able to attend the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards as a presenter.

Last month, Super Junior member Shindong also tested positive for COVID-19. —JCB, GMA News
