Shawn Mendes postpones tour dates as he reaches 'breaking point'
Shawn Mendes has postponed the next three weeks of his concert tour dates due to mental health concerns.
In an Instagram post, the "Treat You Better" singer said he's heartbroken over the decision, but that he needs time to heal.
“I’ve been touring since I was 15 and to be honest it’s always been difficult to be on the road away from friends and family,” he wrote.
After a few years taking a break from touring, Shawn said he thought that he was ready to go back again, but "that decision was premature.”
“Unfortunately, the toll of the road has caught up to me and [I’ve] hit a breaking point," he said.
“After speaking with my team and health professionals, I need to take some time to heal and take care of myself and my mental health, first and foremost," he added.
Shawn has been producing hit after hit ever since he started his career in 2013. He is best known for the songs “Stitches,” “In My Blood,” and “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back.”
His latest single “When You’re Gone” was released in March. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA News
