Kelly Clarkson reflects on last 20 years since winning ‘American Idol’
Can you believe it’s already been 20 years since Kelly Clarkson won the first season of “American Idol?”
On social media, Kelly looked back on her journey after that win “forever changed the course of [her] life.”
She said, “That moment was the door that opened up so much access and opportunity, and creative partnerships that I will be grateful for all my days.”
Kelly called the family and friends she’s gained over the last 20 years in music and TV “priceless,” and that she wouldn't be where she is today if not for these people.
“We only get so many trips around the sun and while I am proud and feel abundantly blessed of the successes and failures that I have learned from, I am most proud and grateful for those friends that have become family, and for their arms that have held me when I needed it and their hearts that listened to me when I felt lost,” the singer said.
Of course, Kelly also had to thank every single fan who voted for her all those years ago.
“I hope you all have people in your lives that fill you with laughter, and hope, and happiness, and if you don’t feel like you have that, then keep searching because I promise you they’re looking for you too,” Kelly added.
Since winning “Idol,” Kelly has released numerous hits like “Breakaway,” “Because of You,” “Since U Been Gone,” and “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You).” She is also the host of the talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” — LA, GMA News
