You can always count on RM to champion arts and culture.

The leader and main rapper of BTS has made a meaningful donation to the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation.

RM, whose real name is Kim Namjoon, gave 100 million won (approximately P4.1 million) for the “preservation, restoration, and utilization of cultural assets overseas,” according to a report on Soompi.

The donation will also be used to produce a catalog focusing on Korean paintings.

RM previously made a donation in 2021 which was kept private. The foundation said that this was used for the conservation of hwarots, traditional Korean clothing worn by royal women in the Goryeo and Joseon Dynasty.

Truly passionate about the arts, RM even inspired the BTS ARMY to organize art projects, such as raising funds for kids to attend the reopening of the Museo Pambata and launching an exhibit inspired by "Namjooning."

RM also announced that he has produced an audio guide on his favorite works at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s (LACMA) exhibit, "The Space Between: The Modern in Korean Art." —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA News
