Maxime Bouttier on working with George Clooney, Julia Roberts in 'Ticket to Paradise'

Newly-minted Indonesian actor Maxime Bouttier is starring with George Clooney and Julia Roberts as they reunite on the big screen for the upcoming romantic comedy film, "Ticket to Paradise."

In an exclusive interview with GMA News Online, Maxime said that  "Ticket to Paradise" is his first international film, and he is more than grateful to work with Hollywood legends George and Julia.

"It was nerve-wracking and such a pleasure, such a blissful moment as well because I've seen them since I was a child. It was a dream I never thought I had," the Indonesian actor said.

Maxime added that working for "Ticket to Paradise is a "game changer" for him, as it opened a bigger audience for his acting career.

Since the film was shot in Indonesia, the actor said he could personally relate to his character, Gede.

"I lived in Bali for 15 years, and I've been around all these people all my life. So playing a Balinese guy in my first international movie felt like a full circle moment because it feels like I came back to my roots," the 29-year-old said.

Maxime said that "Ticket to Paradise" will entertain its viewers in learning about Bali traditions.

"I find it a great way to show customs and traditions in the movie where it's not like too hard on it, you know, because people can enjoy the experience as well," Maxime said.

"It's a proud moment for me because my character brings Indonesia to light into the global audiences worldwide," he added.

When asked what viewers should look out for in "Ticket to Paradise," Maxime advised the audience to prepare for "a good laugh."

"It's a feel-good movie, and it's been a while since we've had a romcom like this. [A lot of] movies right now are kind of serious, a lot of action, a lot of drama. So, I think people would like just an escape [type of film], you know?" Maxime said.

Set in the beautiful island of Bali, "Ticket to Paradise" follows the story of a divorced couple David, played by George, and Georgia, portrayed by Julia. They find themselves on a shared mission to stop their lovestruck daughter Lily (Kaitlyn Dever) from marrying Gede (Maxime) soon.

Ticket to Paradise premieres on Wednesday, October 5, in local cinemas nationwide.
