Dog thief sues Lady Gaga for not paying $500-K reward for returning dogs
Lady Gaga has been sued by one of the people involved in the theft of her two dogs in February 2021 after the singer allegedly didn't pay the $500,000 reward for returning the pets.
According to a People report, the plaintiff is Jennifer McBride, one of the five people arrested for the crime in April 2021, along with Harold White, Jaylin White, James Jackson, and Lafayette Whaley. McBride was dating fellow accomplice Harold White at the time.
Her lawyer said that by stating "no questions asked" with the reward offer and failing to pay, Lady Gaga committed a breach of contract, fraud by false promise, and fraud by misrepresentation.
Jackson, who shot the singer's dog walker Ryan Fischer, was sentenced to 21 years in prison, though they were dropped to lesser charges after he entered a plea.
Meanwhile, Fischer was seriously injured with a collapsed lung as a result of the incident.
