'What You Won't Do for Love' singer Bobby Caldwell dies at 71
Bobby Caldwell, the American singer-songwriter most popularly known for "What You Won't Do for Love" has died. He was 71.
His wife Mary took to social media to announce his passing, using his accounts and signing her name.
"Bobby passed away here at home. I held him tight in my arms as he left us. I am forever heartbroken," she wrote on Twitter.
"He had been 'FLOXED'," she continued, which according to USA Today, "is a condition that arises after an adverse effect from consuming a fluoroquinolone antibiotic." The American paper quoted treatment center Regenerative Medicine LA.
Mary thanked everyone for their prayers "over the years," and addressing her husband, she wrote "Rest with God, my love."
According to Bobby's website, "What You Won't Do for Love" has been sampled and recorded more over 100 artists.
"Artists as diverse as Tupac Shakur, Michael Bolton, Roberta Flack, Go West, Vanessa Williams and Notorious B.I.G. have all paid tribute to the blue-eyed singer in the slouch hat," it continued.
Plenty artists and musicians paid tribute to Bobby. Questlove on Instagram wrote "now you’re gone and I never got a chance to kick it with you & hear your story."
"Man such a missed opportunity to meet a legend. Thank you for your voice and gift," he continued, using the hashtag #BobbyCaldwell.
