A live-action movie version of Disney's 'Moana' is in the works!

Aloha! There's going to be a live-action movie of the Disney animated film, "Moana!"

Actor Dwayne Johnson, who voiced Maui in the Oscar-nominated animated film, made the official announcement on Instagram, calling the live-action version a "reimagining."

In the video, he can be seen on the beach with his daughters, Jasmine and Tiana, as he talks to the viewers about the upcoming movie.

According to Dwayne, the movie will include the music, the dance, Gramma Tala, goddess Te Fiti, the village, "the beautiful, powerful ocean," Pua the pig, Heihei the chicken, and of course, his character, Maui.

"I wear our culture proudly on my skin and in my soul, and this once in a lifetime opportunity to reunite with MAUI, inspired by the spirit of my late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, is one that runs very deep for me," he wrote.

He also added that "it's very early in the process."

Dwayne will serve as a movie producer along with Auli'i Cravalho, who voiced Moana.

Half-Filipino singer Nicole Scherzinger, who voiced Moana's mother, commented, "SOOO AWESOME AND SO EXCITED."

Quoting the song that his Maui character sings in the movie, he concluded, "What can I saaaaaay except…You’re welcome."
