BLACKPINK members not renewing contracts for solo activities with YG Entertainment

BLACKPINK members not renewing contracts for solo activities with YG Entertainment

While all four members of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK renewed their contracts for group activities with YG Entertainment, the multinational entertainment agency announced today that Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rose won’t be renewing their contracts for individual activities.

“BLACKPINK recently renewed their contracts with YG for their group activities, and we have agreed not to proceed with additional contracts for [the members’] individual activities,” YG said.

“We will do our utmost to support BLACKPINK’s activities, and we will cheer on the members’ individual activities with warm hearts,” the agency added.

This announcement comes after the launch of Jennie’s own label, Odd Atelier, on December 24.

Odd Atelier will focus on Jennie’s promotions as a solo artist.

Jennie is the first BLACKPINK member to establish a solo label after they renewed their contract with YG Entertainment.

BLACKPINK debuted in 2016 with "Boombayah" and "Whistle."

We’re looking forward to what the members will work on as solo artists in the future!
