Aespa's Karina apologizes to fans in handwritten letter following dating news

Aespa’s Karina apologized to fans after confirming that she is dating actor Lee Jae Wook.

In a handwritten letter translated by Soompi, Karina apologized to fans for surprising them with the news.

“I wound up [writing this] late because I feel very cautious towards the MYs who must have been very surprised,” she said.

The South Korean singer added that she understands that fans may be disappointed. “I also know that they are feeling upset while thinking back on the things we’ve said to one another. I feel even more sorry because I, too, understand those feelings all too well.”

Karina admitted that she was worried that the letter would hurt MYs again, but she wanted to take the risk and apologize.

“I wanted to convey that I am sincerely sorry to the fans who gifted me with the warmest winter of my life from the moment I debuted,” she said.

“Starting now, I want to do a good job filling the places where MYs have been wounded. I have always been sincere towards MYs, and even now, each and every one of you is truly precious to me," she added.

She promised that she would sure a "more mature" side of herself without "disappointing fans.

“MYs, please make sure to eat well, and let’s meet one another in good shape. I’m sorry, and I’m very grateful,” she added.

Dispatch was the first to report that Karina and Lee Jae Wook were getting to know each other after a Prada show in Milan last January. The publication said the pair would usually meet in Lee Jae Wook’s neighborhood and have been spotted on a late-night walk.

Their agencies confirmed the news in January.

Karina debuted with Aespa in 2020. Their group is known for their hit songs “Black Mamba,” and “Next Level.”
