'The Summer I Turned Pretty' actresses Rachel Blanchard and Jackie Chung give advice on how to find the love of your life
Lyn Ching interviewed the cast of "The Summer I Turned Pretty" and Jackie Chung and Rachel Blanchard, the actresses who played Laurel and Susannah respectively, gave top notch advice on how to find the love of your life.
According to Jackie, it's important to focus on oneself first. "Develop who they are as a person and what they wanna do with their lives, what's important to them, and then they have the right perspective and lens to find the right person," she said.
"And when they do, I hope it's somebody who give them a lot of love and respect," Jackie added.
Meanwhile Rachel pointed to two things: kindness and a sense of humor. "I think kindness is underrated," she began, before adding, "someone who makes you laugh."
Meanwhile, author Jenny Han, on whose book the show is based, said an important non-negotiable for women is "somebody who celebrates you as you are and is down to be on the journey with you."
"The Summer I Turned Pretty" has been the talk of the Internet for a few weeks now, with audiences having strong feelings and opinions about the story line and the characters' choices.
In the hit show, Rachel plays Susannah, the mother of the two boys Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) who fell in love with Belly (Lola Tung), the daughter of Laurel played by Jackie Chung. — LA, GMA Integrated News
