Miranda Priestly meets Anna Wintour at Milan Fashion Week
"Can you please spell 'Gabbana?'"
Fiction met reality as Meryl Streep, in character as Miranda Priestly, shared a sweet moment with Vogue's Anna Wintour, widely believed to be the inspiration behind her iconic role in "The Devil Wears Prada," at the Milan Fashion Week.
On Instagram, Vogue magazine shared a sweet interaction between Meryl and Anna after they witnessed Dolce & Gabbana's Spring 2026 fashion show in Milan.
"Today in Milan, legendary Runway magazine editor Miranda Priestly caught up with Vogue's Anna Wintour following the spring 2026 [Dolce & Gabbana] show," Vogue wrote.
Meryl and Stanley Tucci, also in character as Nigel, were spotted in the front row as scenes were filmed for "The Devil Wears Prada 2" during the Milan Fashion Week.
In July, Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, and Justin Theroux were announced as new cast members of the film.
The highly anticipated sequel to the cult classic "The Devil Wears Prada" will center on Miranda as she struggles with the waning of traditional magazines.
Meanwhile, Emily Charlton, played by Emily Blunt in the first film, is now a powerful executive for a luxury group.
"The Devil Wears Prada" was adapted from Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel of the same name. The film was also top-billed by Anne Hathaway.
The sequel has started its production with Meryl and Anne reprising their previous roles from the film. It is slated for release on May 1, 2026.
