Mandy Moore reflects on fame before the social media age: ‘I never felt overwhelmed’

Mandy Moore reflects on fame before the social media age: ‘I never felt overwhelmed’

Mandy Moore, who first rose to fame at 15 years old, said she feels “really lucky” to have experienced fame at a time when social media didn't yet to exist.

“I feel really, really lucky because I was still able to be a regular 15-year-old and have this incredible job and opportunities that I never could have fathomed,” Mandy said during the 2025 Inspiration Awards held in late September, PEOPLE reported.

According to Mandy, she was "still able to be a kid,” enjoying the best of both worlds: living a normal life while pursuing her career in show business.

“I could go to the mall, I could go to amusement parks, I could go to the homecoming dance at my old school with my friends,” she said.

“I was still very much allowed to toggle between both worlds, and I never felt overwhelmed,” she added.

But the American singer seems to be fitting in quite well in the age of socials. In 2022, she even put a mom twist to the popular TikTok challenge she participated in.

She also made waves online when she, along with co-star Shane West took to Instagram to mark 20 years of "A Walk to Remember."

Mandy is best known for her role as Jamie Sullivan in the 2002 film. In March, it was announced that a remake of the classic film is currently in the works.

Mandy has been married to musician Taylor Goldsmith since 2018. They have three children: Gus, Ozzie, and Lou.

In 2023, Taylor revealed that he finally watched “A Walk to Remember” for the first time, more than two decades after its release, and got emotional. — Hermes Joy Tunac/LA, GMA Integrated News
