Lee Yi Kyung’s accuser admits 'lewd texts' were fake, created using AI

The individual who accused South Korean actor Lee Yi Kyung of alleged sexual misconduct admitted that the lewd text messages circulating online were fabricated using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

According to a report by "The Korea Herald" on Wednesday, the accuser, who claimed to be of German descent, released a statement on the same day, saying the posts were initially made “for fun." The person also expressed their guilt over the situation.

"I never thought the post would garner such attention. But as I wrote [the post] and used AI images, I think I gradually came to believe they were real," the statement read.

Per multiple reports, screenshots of the fake text messages asking for sexual favors circulated on social media when the individual posted them in an online community.

On Monday, Lee Yi Kyung’s agency, Sangyoung ENT, announced it would take legal action against those spreading false information and malicious rumors about the actor.

"Given the seriousness of the situation, we will assess the extent of both direct and indirect damages caused by the dissemination of false information and take all necessary legal measures accordingly," the agency had said in a statement.

“Please note that both the creation and reckless distribution of such content are subject to legal action. We ask for your caution to prevent any unnecessary harm from arising."

Lee Yi Kyung is known for his roles in “My Love from the Star,” “Descendants of the Sun,” “Confession Couple,” “Welcome to Waikiki,” and “Children of Nobody."
