'Golden' singers react to 5 Grammy nominations

'Golden' singers react to 5 Grammy nominations

Huntrix is over the moon following the announcement of their five Grammy nominations for “Golden!”

The singers behind the animated K-pop group from the hit animated film “KPop Demon Hunters” reacted to the news on Instagram.

Ejae, the singing voice of Rumi, wrote, “Omg… I don’t even have the adjectives to describe how I’m feeling.”

“This is beyond anything I ever imagined, being nominated for a Grammy… never mind Song Of The Year!!!! To say this was my dream is an understatement,” she added.

Ejae said the nominations would not be possible without the “KPop Demon Hunter” fans “who have shown us so much support.”

She expressed her thanks to directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans for the opportunity to write songs for the movie. She also thanked her co-writers as well as her fellow singing voices.

Audrey, the singing voice of Mira, said there are “no words to explain how much this means but I will try.”

She dedicated the nominations to the outcasts.

“My endless love to the generations of outcasts who felt like they never belonged, to anyone who’s felt counted out.. the kids, teenagers, and adults who never saw themselves represented in the movies or media that they consume,” she said.

“This film is a true win for any person of any background who’s ever been there and I know that all of us have at some point. I’m beyond grateful to be a part of ‘Kpop Demon Hunters’ and everything that it stands for.”

Finally, Rei Ami, the singing voice of Zoey, congratulated her fellow singers.

“I am so so so honored to walk this journey with you all,” she said.

She told the filmmakers, “Thank you for gifting the world with ‘KPDH.’ You changed many lives, including mine. So grateful and honored to be a part of this.”

“Golden” is nominated for Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, Best Song Written for Visual Media, and Bets Remixed Recording.

“KPop Demon Hunters” has become Netflix’s most popular film of all time, with more than 236 million views since its release in June.

Additionally, the soundtrack is the first to enter four simultaneous Top 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.

It follows K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who make up the idol group Huntrix. They have secret identities as demon hunters, determined to protect their fans from supernatural danger.

The film has won over hearts around the globe with its catchy songs, “Golden,” "Soda Pop," "What It Sounds Like," "Your Idol," “Takedown,” and more.

The sequel is reported to come out in 2029.
