Ariana Grande charged by a fan, Cynthia Erivo protects her
Ariana Grande was aggressively charged by a man at the “Wicked: For Good” premiere event in Singapore.
In videos making the rounds online, the man jumped the barriers to get on the yellow carpet and quickly ran to Ariana. He put his arm around her, and started jumping, before security rushed to the American star's aid.
Ariana’s co-star Cynthia Erivo instantly put herself between Ariana and the man and yelled at him. Security then intervened.
Ariana was visibly shaken by the incident, and was comforted by Cynthia and Michelle Yeoh.
GMA Network broadcaster Lyn Ching was on field in Singapore and talked about what happened in a series of Instagram Stories. “[Ariana] was really affected. She was really jarred kasi can you imagine if it happened to you? May sumugab sa ‘yo," Lyn began.
“He just came at her," she added.
Lyn did not personally witness the incident, having been positioned on the opposite side from where the incident took place.
But “I saw the aftermath," Lyn said, adding Ariana's expression and demeanor changed. She was not her usual self, Lyn said.
According to People Magazine, the crasher was Johnson Wen also known as “Pyjama Man” online. Known for crashing celebrity events, he posted a video of the incident on Instagram and said, “Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You.”
In June, he jumped onstage during a Katy Perry concert. Then in August, he crashed a The Weeknd show.
