Eva Green joins 'Wednesday' Season 3 as Aunt Ophelia Frump
Eva Green is joining the upcoming third season of "Wednesday."
According to Netflix's blog, Tudum, the award-winning French actress will take on the role of Ophelia Frump, the reportedly missing sister of Morticia Addams, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones.
The character of Ophelia was teased in the final episode of Season 2, which showed her from behind, writing "Wednesday must die" on a wall.
Per "Wednesday" creators Al Gough and Miles Millar, the appearance of Ophelia in Season 3 will hit the Addams family "like a bomb."
"It was always the plan to give viewers a glimpse of her at the end of the season in a way that they weren't expecting, and then that's a driver into Season 3," Gough was quoted as saying.
Green, known for her previous films such as "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children," "Dark Shadows," and "Casino Royale," among others, has expressed her excitement to be part of the show.
"This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world, I can't wait to bring my own touch of cuckoo-ness to the Addams family," she shared
The two-part Season 2 of "Wednesday" premiered in August and September 2025. Per Tudum, Season 2 went on to become the No. 4 most-viewed English-language series of all time on the streaming giant.
The first season of "Wednesday," which remains the most-viewed English-language series on Netflix, premiered on the platform in 2022.
It follows Wednesday Addams’ (Jenna Ortega) first year in Nevermore Academy as she uses her psychic ability to solve a local murder that her father had been blamed for.
