GMA's Hollywood correspondent Janet Nepales is a finalist in LA Press Club’s 18th Annual National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards
Janet Susan R. Nepales, Hollywood correspondent of GMA-7 News and columnist of the weekly column “Hollywood Insider,” is a finalist in the LA Press Club’s 18th Annual National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards.
Her column, “Hollywood Insider,” is among the finalists in the Entertainment Blog By An Individual or Group Tied to an Organization category with her article on “Elias J: From rubber tree tapping to performing on the global stage.”
Other honorees and awardees that night held at the Crystal Ballroom of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles last Sunday, December 7, were Paul Anka (“The Legend Award”), Marlee Matlin (“The Impact Award”), Larry Mantle (“The Luminary Award”), Kasi Lemmons (“The Distinguished Storyteller Award”), and Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen (“The Visionary Award”).
Nepales, who is based in Los Angeles and a University of Santo Tomas Journalism cum laude alum, came out with her first limited edition hardbound coffee table book, “FASHION. Filipino. Hollywood. The World,” which was a finalist in the recently held 2022 15th Annual National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards (NAEJ) of the Los Angeles Press Club. The paperback edition is now available on amazon.com.
Nepales, who is the first Filipina voting member of the Golden Globe Awards, was recognized by the Filipina Women’s Network (FWN) as one of the “100 Most Influential Filipino Women in the U.S.” in 2012 and as one of the “100 Most Influential Filipino Women in the World” in 2013. She is a co-author of the first FWN book entitled “DISRUPT: Filipina Women: Proud. Loud. Leading Without A Doubt.”
She is married to journalist-author Ruben V. Nepales with whom she has two daughters – Bianca Nicole and Rafaella Angelica.
