Meg Ryan shares touching throwback pic with Rob Reiner: 'Oh how we will miss this man'

Meg Ryan took to Instagram to write a tribute to the late director and actor, Rob Reiner, and his wife, photographer Michele.

The actress posted a throwback photo of her dancing with Reiner on a film set.

“Oh how we will miss this man,” Meg said, and thanked the couple “for the way you believe in true love, in fairy tales, and in laughter.”

She also thanked them for putting faith in the best in people and their love for the country.

“I have to believe that their story will not end with this impossible tragedy, that some good may come, some awareness raised,” Meg said.

“I don’t know, but my guess is that they would want that to be hopeful and humane, to be something that brings us all to a greater understanding of one another and to some peace,” she added.

Meg starred in Reiner’s film “When Harry Met Sally” opposite Billy Crystal. It is now considered a classic romantic comedy film.

According to a 2024 CNN interview, Reiner fell in love with Michele while making the film. This prompted him to change the ending to a happier one than what he had originally planned.

“It was going to be the two of them seeing each other after years, talking and then walking away from each other,” he said.

Rob and Michele were found dead in their Los Angeles home on December 15. Local media reported the couple had been stabbed to death.

Shortly after, their son Nick was arrested on homicide charges.

He has made his first court appearance and did not enter a plea. He returns to court on January 7.

Following the news, tributes instantly poured in from fellow artists like Stephen King, John Cusack, Zooey Deschanel, former US President Barack Obama, and many more.

Rob acted in the projects “All in the Family,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “New Girl,” and many more. He directed well-known movies like "The Princess Bride," "This is Spinal Tap," "Flipped," "Stand by Me," and "The American President."
