Jo Yoon Woo announces marriage plans and acting retirement

Jo Yoon Woo has announced his plans for marriage and retirement from acting in a letter on Instagram.

According to a translation by Soompi, the South Korean actor said that he has met a "precious person" that he wants to spend the rest of his life with.

“After giving it a lot of thought, I’ve decided to end my 15-year acting career in order to build a humble life of our own together,” Jo Yoon Woo said.

“The 15 years I spent with only acting in my sights after debuting at the age of 21 have been truly precious to me, which is why I carefully debated this decision for a long time before finally sharing it with you now,” he added.

The actor said that for the first time in his life, he met somebody he wants to protect forever, and wants to build a joyous life with her.

“Please look kindly on my life together with the precious lover who has been with me for over four years—and who is also my closest friend,” he said.

Jo Yoon Woo debuted in 2011 with the drama series “Flower Boy Ramyun Shop. He has also appeared in “The Heirs” and “Hwarang.” He last appeared in the 2023 drama “Not Others.”
