Bretman Rock recalls disappointing encounter with Vanessa Hudgens: ‘I don’t like her'

Bretman Rock has spilled the tea on his disappointing encounter with fellow Filipino-blooded celebrity Vanessa Hudgens.

In an episode of the “Sweet or Savory Podcast” hosted by US-based Filipino-American couple AJ Rafael and Alyssa Navarro, Bretman was asked about his most disappointing celebrity encounter, to which he immediately responded, “VH.”

“Vanessa Hudgens,” he clarified. “I don’t like her.”

Bretman recalled meeting Vanessa at Coachella a few years ago, where they were both invited as guests of the brand SugarBear.

During that time, he said that when he saw the CEO of SugarBear, he tried to get his attention by waving his hand in the air.

“I was trying to get his attention and waving, not at her [Vanessa], and she looks at me and tries to hide," Bretman said.

"First of all, I'm not saying 'hi' to you. I was always Team Sharpay. Let's just get that out of the way,” he added. “I’m not a fan.”

Bretman also said there was no reason for her to be “hiding” from him when they met at Coachella.

“You’re not above me, I’m not under you, and that’s just that on that,” he said.

“And I’m literally like, damn, I’m Filipino, you can’t even like your own people,” he added.

In 2023, the “High School Musical” actress was named Global Tourism Ambassador for the Philippines.

In the same year, Bretman visited the country, and netizens lauded him for effortlessly promoting the Philippines by sharing content on social media during his vacation.
