Kristen Stewart open to 'Twilight' franchise return, but as director

Kristen Stewart expressed interest in making a "Twilight" remake, but this time, she wants to take the director's seat.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly during the Palm Springs International Film Festival Creative Impact Awards, the actress-director said she is open to making a "Twilight" reboot.

"Imagine if we had like, a huge budget and a bunch of love and support," she said. "I would love to readapt."

"Yeah, sure, I'll do the remake. I'm doing it! I'm committed!" she added.

Based on Stephenie Meyer's popular book series ,"The Twilight Saga," the story follows the romance between Bella Swan (Kristen) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). The five films—"Twilight," "New Moon," "Eclipse," and "Breaking Dawn" Parts 1 and 2—spanned from 2008 to 2012. —Hermes Joy Tunac/MGP, GMA Integrated News
