Ex-NewJeans member Danielle says she 'fought until the very end' to stay with group

Ex-NewJeans member Danielle says she 'fought until the very end' to stay with group

Former NewJeans member Danielle Marsh has broken her silence weeks after she was removed from the K-pop group.

During a livestream on her new Instagram account on Monday, she thanked fans for waiting for her.

"Sometimes late at night I would read the letters and the messages you sent me," she said. "Not loudly, but just enough. That warmth stays with me for a really long time."

She said that she has a letter for her supporters that she hopes they can read one day, but as of now, her situation is "still in the process of being resolved."

"And when the time comes, I will update you all about what’s happening about the lawsuit and about all the things that you’re, I guess, curious about," she said.

"And this, I can say clearly. I fought ‘till the very end to be together with the members. And that truth stays with me," she added.

Danielle also told fans that "this is not the end."

“This is only the beginning,” she added.

In December, Danielle exited NewJeans as record label Ador terminated her contract. Ador also said that it aims to pursue legal measures against a member of Danielle's family and former Ador CEO Min Hee Jin.

Meanwhile, NewJeans members Hyein and Haerin remain associated with Ador and have resumed activities with the agency. According to the statement, Hanni has also decided to continue activities with Ador, while Minji is in discussions with the agency "to broaden mutual understanding."

NewJeans drew worldwide attention in 2024 after becoming embroiled in a lengthy legal battle with Ador and its parent company, HYBE, over their seven-year exclusive contract.

In October, the Seoul court ruled in favor of Ador, upholding the validity of NewJeans’ exclusive contract with the agency.

NewJeans initially said they would file an appeal to overturn the decision, saying that it was impossible to accept and return to the company.
