Ejae on Golden Globes win: 'Everything happens for a reason'

Ejae is still over the moon after her Golden Globes win for Best Original Song for "Golden" from "KPop Demon Hunters."

The singer-songwriter shared moments from the awards show on Instagram and reflected on her win in the caption.

"Everything happens for a reason. After 23 years filled with lots of ups and downs, every heartbreak and struggle led me to this insane day," Ejae said.

"Thank you so much to the Golden Globes for the incredible honor for Best Original Song."

Ejae thanked her co-writers for being part of the song and congratulated the "KPop Demon Hunters" team for winning Best Animated Film.

"Thank you for trusting in me in being part of the songwriting and performance of these songs for the movie," she said.

She also thanked Netflix, Sony Animation, Republic Records, and Visya Records "for sharing the movie and music to the world."

Ejae also thanked her fellow "Golden" singers Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna. Finally, she thanked her family, friends, manager, and fiancé.

"And of course thank you to the fans! For bringing life to this song and help spreading the great message of the song to the world!"

During her acceptance speech, Ejae opened up about the early struggles in her career.

"I was rejected, and disappointed that my voice isn't good enough, and so I had leaned on songs and music to get through it."

"It's a dream come true to be part of a song that is helping other girls, other boys, and everyone from all ages to get through their hardship," she added while holding back tears.

Ejae is best known for being the singing voice of Rumi in the hit film "KPop Demon Hunters." Aside from "Golden," among the songs she wrote for the film are "Your Idol" and "How It's Done."

Aside from her work on the film, Ejae is the songwriter behind some top K-Pop songs like "Psycho" and "Birthday" by Red Velvet, "Armageddon" by Aespa, "Last Waltz" by Twice, and many more.

She released her debut single, "In Another World," in 2025.
