Brooklyn Beckham blasts parents David and Victoria Beckham: 'I do not want to reconcile'

Brooklyn Beckham blasts parents David and Victoria Beckham: 'I do not want to reconcile'

Brooklyn Beckham has made it clear: he is not interested in keeping up with the Beckhams.

The 26-year-old son of celebrity couple David and Victoria Beckham took to Instagram to air his side of the story amid the family’s ongoing rift.

Brooklyn began his statement by saying that, as much as he wanted to keep family matters private, “my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself.”

He also said that no one is controlling him, defending his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he said. “I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.

“The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards,” he added. “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life.”

In the same post, Brooklyn alleged that his parents “have been trying to ruin” his relationship with Nicola since before their wedding. The couple tied the knot in 2022.

“Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children,” Brooklyn added.

“They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated,” he added. “My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.”

Brooklyn further alleged that on his wedding day, Victoria “hijacked” what was supposed to be his and Nicola’s first dance, which had been planned weeks in advance.

“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife, but instead, my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” he said.

“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he added.

Despite the alleged disrespect toward Nicola, Brooklyn claimed that he and his wife still traveled to London for David’s 50th birthday in 2024, but were rejected.

“He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner,” he said.

“When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited,” he added. “It was a slap in the face.”

Brooklyn then ended his statement by saying that his “anxiety disappeared” when he decided to step out of the Beckham family.

“I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief,” he said.

“My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation," he added. "All we want [is] peace, privacy, and happiness for us and our future family.”

Earlier in January, Brooklyn reportedly told his parents to communicate with him only through his lawyers amid the ongoing family feud.

In August 2025, Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their vows.

Brooklyn is the eldest son of pop star-turned-designer Victoria and England football legend David, while Nicola is the daughter of billionaire investor Nelson Peltz and model Claudia Heffner.
