Sandara Park denies Park Bom's allegations about drug use
Sandara Park addressed the allegations made by Park Bom against her, denying that she took illegal substances.
The K-pop star issued a short statement on Instagram Stories on Wednesday.
"I have never used drugs. I wish her well," Sandara wrote both in Korean and English.
According to a report from The Korea Herald, Bom claimed that she was used to cover up a drug issue allegedly involving Sandara.
Through a handwritten note posted on social media, Bom said she was labeled a "drug addict" to turn the public attention away from her fellow 2NE1 member.
The Korea Herald report said that a close associate of the singer disputed the story and told local media that the post appeared to stem from Bom's "unstable condition." Bom is currently on an indefinite hiatus due to health concerns.
The singer was previously criticized for making "unverified claims" about other celebrities, the report also said.
In her handwritten note, Bom told YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk, The Black Label founder Teddy Park, and 2NE1 member CL to stop reporting that she had used more than the prescribed amount of medication.
Bom also addressed her past controversy involving the prescription drug Adderall, which is primarily used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
In 2010, she was investigated for importing the medication to South Korea from the United States. It was classified as a regulated substance containing amphetamine.
Bom submitted medical records and prescriptions to prove that the medication was for treatment purposes and later received a suspension of indictment. —MGP, GMA Integrated News
