BTS' comeback album 'Arirang' sells almost 4M copies in first day —record label
BTS' new album "Arirang" sold 3.98 million copies in the first day, the K-pop group's label Big Hit Music said Saturday, citing local album sales tracker Hanteo Chart.
The album was released on Friday after an almost four-year hiatus, a day ahead of BTS' comeback concert that's expected to draw some 260,000 people to central Seoul.
"Arirang," inspired by the traditional Korean folk song, contains 14 songs including the lead single, "Swim." BTS released a music video for "Swim" starring "Riverdale" actress Lili Reinhart.
BTS' comeback show will be staged at the historic Gwanghwamun, and it will be streamed live by Netflix on Saturday, 7 p.m.
The South Korean's supergroup return to the music scene will also be featured in "BTS: The Return," a documentary film centered on the making of their album. It will land on Netflix on March 27. —with reports from AFP/JCB, GMA Integrated News
