Heeseung on leaving Enhypen: 'I feel a little sorry'

Heeseung has personally addressed his departure from Enhypen for the first time.

According to a report by The Korea Herald, the K-pop star made his first public appearance through a fan video call event, during which he said fans “must have been really surprised.”

Heeseung said that he is doing well but expressed some regret, adding, “I feel a little sorry on the one hand.”

The singer further revealed that he is preparing to release an album, marking his official debut as a solo artist.

Belift Lab announced Heeseung’s departure from Enhypen on March 10.

"Through in-depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that Heeseung has his own distinct musical vision and we have decided to respect it," Belift Lab had said.

Following his departure, the K-pop star wrote a letter to Engenes expressing his gratitude.

After a series of mounted campaigns, petitions, and billboards by fans urging Belift Lab to bring Heeseung back to the K-pop group, the entertainment label reaffirmed that Heeseung will not be returning to Enhypen.

“Heeseung will not return to Enhypen. He has a clear artistic direction he wants to pursue, and we decided to respect that," Belift Lab said.

Enhypen consists of members Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki. Some of the group’s hits include “Bite Me,” “No Doubt,” “Drunk-Dazed,” and “XO (Only If You Say Yes).”

They made a music comeback in January 2026.

In March 2025, the boys brought their "Walk the Line" tour to the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan. They were also in the country in December 2024 for their "Des7ined" fan meeting. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA Integrated News
