BTS celebrates success of 'Arirang,' promises more to come

BTS on Wednesday went live on Weverse to celebrate the massive success of their comeback album, "Arirang," with fans.

RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook said they were celebrating their Billboard achievements together and decided to turn on the live because "we wanted to do this with ARMYs." They were treated to cake, flowers, and balloons by their staff.

Following their comeback, BTS rose to become Billboard's no. 1 artist. "Arirang" hit no. 1 in Billboard 200, while "Swim" debuted no. 1 on Billboard Hot 100.

"It's amazing," Jimin said on their broadcast.

Jin said this was the first album they released after coming back from mandatory military zervice, "and this first album doing so well really makes me happy."

"It's thanks to all the ARMYs, that we were able to receive this," RM added. "It was our first comeback in four years. So many people came together to help us get first place."

Jimin said they put a lot of effort on making "Arirang," and it makes him feel grateful that fans have been listening to it.

V and RM reminded that they have another music video coming out soon. HYBE on Tuesday night had released an MV teaser for the track "2.0."

"We're going to put out a lot of stuff," RM said. "The music video for '2.0' is coming out, 'Run BTS 2.0' is coming out, and after that we have the concerts, and after that, this and that are coming out. Hidden track is coming out."

Jin added, "There's a lot."

Jungkook promised to put out TikTok videos as well.

On March 20, BTS made their highly anticipated comeback with "Arirang" after a four-year hiatus. The new album, led by the single "Swim," has broken records and earned the group new career highs.

Aside from their wins on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100, they also charted nine tracks on the Billboard Global 200, and monopolized the top 13 of the Billboard Global 200 (Excluding US).

BTS is composed of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. They debuted under BigHit Music in 2013.
