Olivia Rodrigo’s new album cover draws comparisons to classic painting, Louis Partridge post

Olivia Rodrigo’s newly announced third studio album already has fans talking — this time, over a possible artistic inspiration spotted in its cover.

Shortly after the Grammy-winning Filipino-American pop star revealed “You See Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” along with its cover showing the singer upside-down on a swing in a pink dress, fans began pointing out similarities to “The Swing,” a 1767 Rococo painting by French artist Jean-Honoré Fragonard.

The classic artwork features a woman in a pink dress on a swing, prompting online discussions about whether Olivia’s visuals were inspired by the piece.

Adding to the buzz, fans — like this, this, and this — also noticed that Louis Partridge recently shared an image of “The Swing” on his Instagram account.

Olivia and Louis have reportedly broken up in December 2025.

They confirmed their relationship in 2023, with Louis accompanying Olivia to the Philippines for her “GUTS” concert. It was incidentally, Olivia's first time in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Olivia’s “You See Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love” is set to be released on June 12, nearly three years after her 2023 album GUTS.

The upcoming record marks her third studio album and follows the success of her debut SOUR and sophomore release GUTS, which both featured four-letter titles.

The new project also signals a shift in visual direction, moving away from the purple-dominated aesthetic associated with her previous era.

The tracklist has yet to be announced.
