Zendaya stands firm on boundaries amid Tom Holland marriage speculation
Zendaya opened up about why she sets boundaries on what the public knows about her relationship with Tom Holland.
In an episode of "Modern Love," a podcast by The New York Times, the actress was asked about the speculations about their marital status.
Zendaya said she knows about "the parasocial investment" the public has on her personal relationship.
"I am aware I'm a public person and so is he. And I'm also aware that we've grown up in front of people and we've done movies where we fall in love with each other, so I really do understand that, and I don't want to dismiss that like, 'Stay out of my business' or whatever," she said.
"But in a lot of ways, I'm also a very private person and I try my best to be able to have things for myself and for him as well," Zendaya added.
The actress added that she and Tom are not hiding themselves from the world, but are preserving moments for themselves, "so that we can maintain that joy within ourselves and our loved ones and our families."
"So that's kind of like my broad way of just saying I hear it but I also like my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and talk about and then also what I'm willing to share," she said.
In March, Zendaya's longtime stylist Law Roach reportedly confirmed that the two already tied the knot.
"The wedding has already happened. You missed it," Roach reportedly told Access Hollywood.
In various interviews, Zendaya has not confirmed or denied the marriage.
The news came a full year after US media confirmed Zendaya and Tom's engagement, following Zendaya's appearance at the Golden Globes 2025, where she was spotted with a diamond ring.
Tom and Zendaya first sparked dating rumors after starring as Peter Parker and MJ in Marvel's 2017 blockbuster, "Spider-Man: Homecoming."
In July 2021, they were spotted kissing inside a car.
Since then, the couple has been expressing their love for each other on Instagram. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
