Ten Lee to leave SM Entertainment, remains with NCT, WayV

Ten Lee is leaving SM Entertainment.

According to a report on Soompi, the entertainment label made the announcement through a notice on Monday.

"Following careful and extensive discussions regarding Ten's future direction, we have reached a mutual understanding to conclude his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment, effective April 8," they wrote.

"Moving forward, we will continue to stay in close communication to explore opportunities for Ten to participate in WayV and NCT activities, where possible," it added.

SM also expressed gratitude to Ten for his contributions to the group.

"Throughout his career, Ten has brought a distinctive artistic presence and breadth of talent to both his group and solo work. We sincerely appreciate the time we have shared together, and wish him all the best as he moves forward into a new chapter."

Meanwhile, the company assured fans that it remains committed to supporting WayV's ongoing activities and vowed to continue honoring the unwavering love and support from their global fanbase.

Ten's departure from SM Entertainment comes on the heels of Mark Lee's recently announced exit from both the label and the group on Friday.

Ten debuted with NCT in 2016 and in its sub-unit WayV 2019. Their group is known for the songs "Love Talk," "Phantom" and "Kickback" among others.

The group was in the Philippines in 2023 for a fan meet. During their stay in the Philippines, Ten explored Manila, including Intramuros. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA News
