Ten of NCT, WayV writes letter to fans, expresses gratitude to SM Entertainment

Ten Lee wrote a letter to Czennies and WayZenNies following the announcement of his departure from SM Entertainment.

In a statement on Instagram Stories, the idol said reflected on his journey, sharing it has been 10 years since his debut with NCU U.

“Looking back, every moment that I've spent with you—as a member of NCT, WayV, the SMTOWN family, and as ‘TEN' whom you've come to know, love and support—has been incredibly meaningful to me and I truly cherish every moment of this journey,” he said.

According to the NCT and WayV member, he wants to "take on new challenges, explore new possibilities, and discover new versions of myself" as he approaches his 10th anniversary.

With this, he decided to end his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment following discussions with his fellow members and the staff.

Ten then expressed his gratitude for SM Entertainment.

“SM will always be my ‘home,’ and I will forever be proud to say that I grew up at SM—especially as the first Thai artist to do so!” Ten said. “Being given the opportunity to learn, perform and grow as an artist at SM is something that I will always be grateful for and hold close to my heart.”

He also thanked everybody for being part of his journey, such as his fellow members, the SM staff, and Czennies and WayZenNies, “who have supported and loved me unconditionally, it means more to me than I can express into words.”

He also noted that he will continue his activities as Ten of NCT and WayV.

“At the same time, I'm excited to show you new sides of ‘TEN’ and to evolve in new ways as a solo artist in this next chapter!” Ten said. “Please continue to give your love and support to NCT, WayV, and me."

SM Entertainment announced Ten's departure from the label on Monday, April 6.

Ten's departure from SM Entertainment comes on the heels of Mark Lee's recently announced exit from both the label and the group on Friday.

Ten debuted with NCT in 2016 and in its sub-unit WayV 2019. Their group is known for the songs "Love Talk," "Phantom," and "Kickback" among others.

WayV was in the Philippines in 2023 for a fan meet. During their stay in the Philippines, Ten explored Manila, including Intramuros.
