Sophia Laforteza says Katseye's Coachella performance will be 'forever in our hearts'

Katseye’s Coachella debut is surely one for the books!

On Saturday morning (PHT), Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Yoonchae, and Megan graced Week 2 of the world’s biggest music festival in their pink and nude two-piece ensemble.

They opened their Week 2 stage with a sultry performance of their new song “Pinky Up,” followed by the songs “Debut,” “Gameboi,” and “Touch.

The girls also showcased their vocal prowess with performances of “Tonight I Might” and “My Way,” before unleashing their sassy side in “Mean Girls,” “Internet Girl,” and “M.I.A.” They also pumped up the crowd with their hit tracks “Gnarly” and “Gabriela.”

As they ended their Coachella debut on a high note, Sophia thanked their fans, including her fellow Filipinos, who graced the music festival.

“Coachella, tonight is gonna be forever in our hearts. I promise. You guys have really made an impact in our lives, and you allowed us to come on this stage and do what we love and share it with all of you,” she said during their short speech.

“Literally, the reason why we got to stand here is because of you guys. For showing up. Coachella, thank you so much for having us. I see you guys raising my flag over there,” she added.

Katseye made their Coachella debut on April 11 with only five members on board as Manon is currently on hiatus.

Earlier this month, Manon removed Katseye from her Instagram bio but said she remains in positive communication with Hybe and Geffen.

“HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I'm happy and I'm healthy. I'll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me,” she said.

She went on hiatus in February.

Meanwhile, Nation’s Girl Group Bini also took the center stage of Coachella’s Mojave stage, making history as the first Filipino act to perform in the music festival. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA News
