Blackpink's Jisoo denies involvement with brother's alleged sex crime scandal

Blackpink member Jisoo’s personal agency, Blissoo, has issued a statement amid the growing controversy involving the singer's brother, who is being investigated for alleged sexual assault.

In a statement released through legal representative attorney Eun Hyun Ho of Kim & Chang, the agency expressed “deep regret over the indiscriminate spread of content” linking both the artist and the company to the scandal.

“First, the matter currently being raised is entirely unrelated to the artist (Jisoo) and Blissoo,” the statement said.

Jisoo has lived independently from her family for years, the company added.

“As such, she is not in a position to be aware of or involved in the private matters of the individual in question,” it said.

“Additionally, during the preparatory stages of establishing Blissoo, the artist did receive limited advice and assistance from family members in the form of relaying communications during discussions with relevant parties. However, at no point—then or now—have family members received compensation from Blissoo or participated in any management or decision-making processes.”

The agency also directly refuted circulating claims that Jisoo's brother co-founded the company or holds a leadership position, calling them “entirely false” and clarifying that the individual in question has “no legal or managerial ties to Blissoo.”

It further emphasized that neither Jisoo nor Blissoo has offered financial or legal support to the individual and has no plans to do so, and it added that Jisoo has no communication or involvement with her brother regarding the issue.

“Despite this, the continued dissemination of false information, as well as the use of the artist’s name, likeness, or image in connection with unrelated matters, constitutes a clear violation of rights and defamation,” the legal team said.

Blisoo warned it would pursue “all available civil and criminal legal action without delay” against those spreading defamatory content, using Jisoo’s name or image in unrelated matters, or publishing unverified claims.

According to The Korea Herald, a man in his 30s, believed to be Jisoo’s brother, was arrested on April 15 over allegations of sexually assaulting a female streamer at his Seoul home.

He is suspected of forcible molestation after inviting her over, though he reportedly admitted contact but denied using force. He is also facing separate domestic violence accusations involving his wife, adding to the controversy.
