Ex-NCT member Lucas ends contract with SM Entertainment

Former NCT member Lucas has officially parted ways with SM Entertainment following the expiration of his exclusive contract.

In a statement posted on Weverse, SM Entertainment said that the contract ended on April 24, and expressed gratitude to fans for their support for the singer.

“We will cherish every moment shared, from the early trainee days to the various activities LUCAS took part in after his debut, and continue to support him as he begins this new chapter. We kindly ask you to support LUCAS’s new journey with encouragement, the announcement said.

Lucas departed NCT and its Chinese subunit WayV in 2023 and expressed plans to pursue individual projects.

Prior his departure, Lucas had been on a hiatus since 2021 following statements from his ex-girlfriends about his cheating, gaslighting, and gold digging. SM said he took time off to reflect on his actions. —Carby Rose Basina/JCB, GMA News
